Privacy Policy

dorkbord  |  kmrt LLC  ·  Last updated: September 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how kmrt LLC ("kmrt," "we," "us," or "our"), the operator of dorkbord, collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the dorkbord website, application, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

This policy applies to information processed through the Service. It does not apply to third-party websites, services, or applications that may be linked from dorkbord and that operate under their own privacy policies.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create or use a dorkbord account, we collect your email address. We use it to authenticate your account, send sign-in links, provide account-related functionality, and communicate with you about the Service. Your email address is not displayed as part of your public or user-facing profile.

Profile Information

You may choose to provide profile information such as a display name, username or handle, country, and profile image. Profile information is optional and may be visible to other dorkbord users depending on the functionality of the Service.

Board Content

We store the content you create, upload, or add to boards, including notes, text, images, drawings, links, files, and other material ("User Content"). We process User Content as necessary to provide the Service, including storing it, displaying it to you, enabling collaboration and sharing, and making it available according to the privacy and publishing settings you select.

We do not use User Content to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.

We do not routinely review private User Content. We may access or review User Content when reasonably necessary to provide support; investigate security issues, suspected abuse, or reported violations; enforce our Terms of Service; protect dorkbord, our users, or others; or comply with applicable law or valid legal process.

Invitations and Collaboration

If you invite another person to a board or use collaboration features, we may process information necessary to provide that functionality, such as an email address used to send an invitation.

Public Board Visit Information

When someone visits a board that has been published publicly, dorkbord may record the visit for purposes such as calculating board view counts or determining which public boards are most frequently viewed. To reduce duplicate counting, we may store a randomly generated identifier in the visitor's browser. This identifier is not designed to identify an individual and is not linked to a dorkbord account.

Technical and Log Information

When you use dorkbord, we and the service providers that operate our infrastructure may automatically receive limited technical information, such as IP address, date and time of a request, requested pages or resources, and information necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and protect the Service. We do not use this information to create advertising profiles about our users.

Payment Information

If dorkbord offers paid services and you purchase a subscription or other paid feature, payment information will be processed by a third-party payment processor. dorkbord does not store full payment card numbers. We may receive limited information related to your transaction, such as subscription status, payment status, transaction identifiers, or billing information necessary to administer your account.

2. How We Use Information

We use information collected through dorkbord to:

Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing personal information, we process information as necessary to provide the Service you request, to comply with legal obligations, based on our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, or based on your consent where consent is required.

3. How We Disclose Information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information in the following circumstances.

Service Providers

We use service providers to perform functions necessary to operate dorkbord, such as hosting, data storage, authentication, email delivery, security, infrastructure, and payment processing. These providers may process information on our behalf as necessary to provide their services.

At Your Direction

We disclose information when you choose to share it through dorkbord. For example, information and User Content may be disclosed to collaborators, people with whom you share a board, or the public depending on the settings and publishing options you select.

Legal and Safety Reasons

We may disclose information if we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; investigate or prevent fraud, abuse, security threats, or illegal activity; enforce our Terms of Service; or protect the rights, property, or safety of dorkbord, our users, or others.

Business Transfers

If kmrt LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar business transaction, information associated with dorkbord may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

4. Shared and Public Boards

You control how your boards are shared through the options provided by dorkbord. Depending on the settings you select, board content may be available to invited collaborators, people with access to a shared link, other dorkbord users, or the general public.

A board that you publish publicly may be viewed by anyone on the internet without a dorkbord account. Public boards may also appear elsewhere within dorkbord and may be indexed, cached, archived, copied, or linked to by third parties and search engines.

Under dorkbord's current publishing system, publishing a board is not reversible. If you no longer want a published board to be available through dorkbord, you must delete the board. Deleting a published board removes it from dorkbord, but it cannot remove copies that other people have already made or content that has been cached, archived, indexed, quoted, linked to, or otherwise stored by third parties.

You should not treat information placed on a publicly published board as private.

5. Browser Storage and Online Tracking

dorkbord uses limited browser storage and similar technologies necessary to operate the Service. These technologies may be used to maintain your authenticated session, remember preferences or application state, remember which board you were using, and maintain the random identifier used to reduce duplicate public-board view counts.

dorkbord does not use advertising cookies or third-party advertising trackers. We do not permit third parties to collect personal information through dorkbord for their own cross-site behavioral advertising purposes.

Do Not Track

Some browsers provide a "Do Not Track" signal. Because dorkbord does not use cross-site behavioral advertising or advertising trackers, we do not currently change how the Service operates in response to a Do Not Track signal.

6. Data Retention

We retain account information, profile information, and User Content for as long as your account or the relevant content remains active, unless a longer retention period is reasonably necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or operational purposes.

When you delete a board, we remove it from the active Service. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify the account information, profile information, boards, and uploads associated with the account, subject to limited exceptions described in this policy.

Deleted information may remain temporarily in backups maintained for disaster recovery and system integrity. Backup copies are removed according to our normal backup-retention processes.

We may retain limited technical, security, transaction, or legal records when reasonably necessary to comply with law, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, or enforce our agreements.

7. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

You can edit or remove certain profile information through dorkbord and can delete boards that you own. Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you additional rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

You may submit a privacy request by contacting us at myke@dorkbord.com. We may need to take reasonable steps to verify your identity before completing certain requests. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights provided by applicable law.

You may manage optional notifications through the features made available in dorkbord. Certain transactional, account, security, and service-related communications are necessary to operate the Service and may still be sent while you maintain an account.

8. Children

dorkbord is not intended for children under 13, and users must be at least 13 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take appropriate steps to delete the information and close the account as required by applicable law. If you believe a child under 13 is using dorkbord, please contact us at myke@dorkbord.com.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. No method of storing or transmitting information over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If a security incident involving personal information occurs, we will take appropriate action and provide notifications as required by applicable law.

10. International Users

dorkbord is operated from the United States, and information collected through the Service may be stored and processed in the United States. If you access dorkbord from another country, your information may be transferred to and processed in a country whose data-protection laws differ from those in your jurisdiction. Any such processing is subject to applicable legal requirements.

11. No Sale of Personal Information, Targeted Advertising, or AI Training

dorkbord does not sell or rent personal information. dorkbord does not use personal information or User Content for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising. dorkbord does not use User Content to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.

If these practices change in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any notice or choices required by applicable law before implementing the change.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to dorkbord, our information practices, or applicable law. When we update the policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

If we make material changes, we may provide additional notice through the Service, by email, or through another appropriate method when required by law or appropriate under the circumstances.
